Their royal weddings have the whole world enraptured – all that pomp and ceremony brings our childhood fairytale fantasies to life. Today, the well-heeled British have access to the most decadent wedding planning services. These event managers are absolute masters at designing weddings that are at first glance, quite understated, yet when you examine the finer detail, are truly phenomenal and utterly exquisite! To gain further insight into the most luxurious weddings in the UK, Luxury Weddings spoke to Mark Niemerko, one of London’s premier event planners.

Candles, Candles, Candles!

“There is nothing better for creating a fabulous impact with minimum cost! For real impact go absolutely overboard and have them everywhere: tables, ledges as well as lining pathways.”

Having previously arranged the weddings of Russian oligarchs, Premiership football players and high society couples from London, New York and Paris, Mark Niemierko has experience and industry knowledge that is second to none.

“The flow, timing and execution of a wedding day are equally as important as the details themselves” says Mark. The number one focus of Niemierko is on making sure guests are felt taken care of, allowing the couple a chance to relax and just enjoy their wedding day.

What really captured our imaginations however, is Niemierko’s “Dress Fitting Service” - a complete luxury experience through and through. Mark takes the bride to carefully selected couturiers in a chauffeur-driven car, offering individual styling advice or just a simple introduction to the designer. This is followed by a private fragrance consultation at Miller Harris, along with a privileged appointment at Jimmy Choo to decide upon that perfect heel. The day concludes over a glass of French champagne. This very special dress fitting experience is also available in Paris and New York.

Mark is famed for being the wedding planner that achieves the impossible for his clients. He was once hired by a South African billionaire to plan his approximately $300,000 wedding in just 48 hours! Mark pulled this off with great success, hiring out The Lanesborough Hotel in London and flying over the 21 guests and the bride from Johannesburg on the morning of the wedding. He even arranged for his selection of dress designers to come to the bride’s hotel suite to pitch their dresses to her. The final choice was a gown by Elizabeth Emanuel, who had her team of seamstresses alter the gown and sew on over 600 crystals in time for the ceremony at 6pm that evening!

One lucky Niemierko bride was even taken to Paris Fashion Week with Mark for an exclusive preview of Designer Max Chaoul’s Bridal Collection.

Mark has organised luxurious weddings all over the world. “I’m a big fan of city weddings such as Paris and New York - and naturally London. I also love the South of France” says Mark. To date he hasn’t organised a wedding in Australia, despite saying he adores visiting here. He says he has “the most fabulous time ever” in Sydney. “Sydney has that amazing appeal of being a city yet never too far from beach or country location.”

“I have had two lovely Australian brides who were marrying British grooms in London but I haven’t yet had the privilege of designing a wedding in Australia. I’d love to!”
